Domestic Level Parboiling Equipment


Processing of agricultural produce is carried out mainly in urban areas and the farmers market their produce in the unprocessed form. If processing could be done by farmers themselves at farm level, they could appreciably increase the market value of their produce and there by significantly increase their incomes. Production of high quality parboiled rice in the rural areas utilizing the technology developed by the NIPHM has become popular self-employment agro-industrial venture among the rural population. This parboiling unit is suitable for the Sri Lankan parboiled rice producers who produces parboiled paddy up to 100 kg day.
